Buffalo Fur: Weather The Elements
According to the National Park Service, the American Bison can survive temperatures as low as -40 with blizzard winds of up to 50 mph. The bison’s thick winter coat is so protective and insulating that their skin won’t melt snow that accumulates on their fur. This prime winter fur (sourced here in the USA) is what we use to hand craft our Buffalo Fur Trapper Hat. – Measure head circumference as shown in the image.
– Wrap a cloth measuring tape or piece of string around your head, then note measurement.
– Our hats will fit 23 1/4″ to 23 1/2″ head circumference.
