What a year 2022 has been! We are incredibly grateful for all your support this year. In fact, the support has been so great we find ourselves getting a little overrun.

We started Merlin’s Hide Out to create beautiful and functional fur and leather goods that would stand the test of time. We strive to keep the tradition of American handcrafting alive, and that means never cutting corners. It is also extremely important to us that we meet our customers’ expectations. We want you to be happy with your purchase, every time. Part of this means getting your order to you in a timely manner.

After an unprecedented amount of custom orders, we find ourselves working long days (and sometimes nights) to fulfill orders.

In order to complete our current list of back orders, we will be pausing made-to-order products until spring 2023. We still have a wide range of products that are in stock and available to order.

Please know that we take this step very seriously! Every day we work to make sure the product that reaches your hands is exceptional and exceeds your expectations. We’re straight shooters here, and want you to know that taking this pause will allow us to create the highest quality product. At the same time, it will allow us to do so without working unhealthy hours.

Regardless of how long it takes for us to craft your product, it will be worth the wait. Guaranteed. Why, you might ask? Because, for us, this is personal. Our art represents who we are, and what we hold valuable. That value is poured into everything we create. You won’t get that kind of care and detail from something mass produced.

We appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you all for your continued support of our small business and handcrafted American traditions. We look forward to creating your next heirloom in 2023.

Happy New Year!

      Hi Spencer,

We would require eight beaver hides to make a medium sized vest. It may not take all eight hides but due to matching and imperfections, as well as how the pattern lays out, we do require that eight are sent.

      Thanks,
      Barb
